Aviation in Australia
For many years Australia has been one of the worlds leading Aviation countries with the Australian CPL highly regarded around the world and recognised by the ICAO. Many airline pilots flying for major airlines around the world started their career by obtaining their Australian CPL.
AWA offers students a CASA AVI40108 Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Aeroplane Licence), a Diploma of Aviation incorporating a Command Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MECIR). Our syllabus is specifically tailored to "placing the student in the right hand seat of a commercial multi crew transport aircraft". We incorporate multi crew call outs and airline style checklists from the start of the pilots training.
Some of the most modern Air Traffic Control systems have been implemented in Australia. This provides ideal training conditions as the skies are not yet crowded, disrupting training with high traffic conditions.
Australian Wings Academy provides students with access to a large fleet of aircraft enabling students to get through the course in the shortest possible time. Australia has no limits to the numbers of students to pass exams and no quotas to the numbers of licences issued.
Now more than ever, studying in Australia at Australian Wings Academy compares very favorably with studying in the United States or elsewhere.

English Language Courses
The minimum entry level to train at AWA is an IELTS level 6 or higher - all students must have achieved this score prior to commencing their training at the academy. Students who don't have a score of 6 will need to enrol in an English course then sit the IELTS or equivalent English test. In addition, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) requires proof of an Aviation Language International Test of English (ALITE) of at least level 4 (operational English) or above, before international students are able to fly solo during their flight training or before they can complete their Private Pilot Licence exams (PPL).
General English, specialised aviation English courses and ALITE are delivered through Griffith University at the Gold Coast and in Brisbane http://www.griffith.edu.au/griffith-english-language-institute
